Today was the first day I spent in Carmel for the 2015 Monterey Car week. This afternoon, I drove down, saw the RM auction (more on that later,) and met fellow Opponaut StuttgartObsessed!
Our ride for the trip down was my 1955 Buick Super, freshly waxed and with the rims newly painted with the factory-correct red stripe:
After the drive down, I went to the RM auction in downtown Monterey. The auction is closed to the public, so I had to sneak in through unlocked doors on the roof to get in. In order to blend in and not get thrown out, I told my friend to not look impressed by anything. That was hard to do with cars like these on display:
After the auction, I met StuttgartObsessed a few blocks away. He’s a super cool guy, so I showed him around my 1955 Buick and we drove around the block. Lots of cool cars were parked on the street or driving on it, including a bunch of 918 Spyders, a Ferrari F50, and enough 458s to keep Ferrari in business for 60 more years. I’d say it was a pretty good start to my weekend!
If anybody else wants to meet up and see some cool cars, let me know!

Yes! I saw a couple racing down Highway 1 yesterday, and a few more in downtown! Where were all of them parked?

Carmel-by-the-sea shopping center garage; the shopping center across from Devendorf Park; and there should be two more joining them
